ABOUT ANGELA MARITZ
I never imagined I could build a life as an artist. Growing up in South Africa, where survival often came before self-expression, “starving artist” wasn’t a dream — it was a warning. But painting was never just a pastime for me — it was how I processed emotion, how I told stories that words couldn’t carry (and honestly, some maybe shouldn’t).
Now, I can’t imagine doing anything else. In a world that needs art more than ever, I’m grateful to create work that invites people to pause, feel, and remember what’s real.
