Art that reminds you what it feels like to be fully alive.

I paint how it feels.

Not simply what it looks like.

My paintings begin with instinct, gesture and emotion. I follow the work until something emerges — and keep going until the painting begins to give something back.

I'm interested in that moment when paint becomes feeling.

It's what I've been searching for since I made my first fearless self-portrait at 17.

And more than 30 years later, I'm still searching.

My paintings sometimes begin quietly in the studio and find their way into places far beyond it.

From private collections to larger commissions and collaborations, I’m interested in what happens when a painting enters a space and begins a life of its own.

Currently: creating a series of original works for The Peninsula Hotel, Cape Town.

Paintings you feel before you understand why.

Some work catches your eye. Other work stays with you.

Find the painting you keep coming back to.
