Questions and Answers
What is the process once I email you to enquire to purchase a painting through your release?
An email screen will pop up, please add the artwork name and send the email. I will get right back to you confirming the availability of it and ask you to confirm your purchase with instructions on payment.
If two emails come through for the same painting the first email received will be rewarded the sale.
What payment methods do you receive?
Cash, direct electronic transfers and credit card payments. (credit cards payments are accepted through PayPal, please expect a surcharge of 4.4% and if international currency conversion costs)
Or you can pay a painting off, Interest-free. Enquiry with me about this option.
When will I receive my painting?
I’ll do my utmost best to get it to you as soon as possible. I’ll keep you posted on its progress.
As soon as your payment has been received and cleared or at least 30% thereof. Generally worldwide courier takes between 7-14 working days.
*Please note sometimes a painting will need to be stretched prior to shipping, so allow extra time to receive your painting. This will always be stipulated.
If I pay a painting off when do I receive it?
You will receive your painting after you have paid 30% of the full price of the painting off. This can be done in an initial deposit or over a set time.
Over how many months can I pay it off or on what payment plan?
As everyone’s situation is different we can discuss this and make arrangements suited to you.
Is shipping included?
Shipping within NZ is included, a perk, because you receive my studio updates, unless stated otherwise.
For international shipping, as a perk, a discounted rate is charged because you too receive my studio updates. There are extra factors to take into consideration with international shipping so please enquire with me directly.
Will these paintings be available until they sell?
No, not always. I work with a wonderful group of galleries who represent me and my work. They too have collectors who are waiting for new work to arrive. I also need to plan for further upcoming fairs and shows so you might see the same painting repeated in another pre-release but I have to ensure leading up these events I have enough work planned.
What happens if I’m not happy with my painting?
Thankfully seeing a painting in the flesh is always better than on a screen. Sometimes colours can be a little different so I have a no questions returns policy. You will need to return it, in the same condition as you received it and I’ll refund you 100% minus shipping and or any other fees incurred (other fees could be commissions on payments taken by a third party)
How do I hang the painting on the wall?
All the work on canvas is stretched on a Masterart Professional Canvas and has a cord attached to the back for you to easily hang it straight onto a wall.
All the work on paper would need to be framed. The work on paper is painted on heavyweight acid free paper.
You may see on some works on paper have been noted as having a deckled edge, this is a feathery edge which betrays that the paper is handmade.
If you would like more details to ensure your painting is hung at the correct height or sized correctly for your wall, please email me.
If I miss this release or a painting that I love is sold can you paint me another?
Yes I can, however it is very difficult to replicate a painting in its entirety. There is spontaneity and energy that goes into each painting, which would give your original a unique feel.
How much does a canvas painting weigh?
Work on Canvas - Depending on size anything between 3-6 kg
How should I have my painting on paper framed?
I could send you examples or give you suggestions to what others are doing but this is entirely up to you and which look you would like to create.
How much is framing?
Framing could cost anything from $100+ and its best to check with your local framer.
Are the sides of the canvas painted?
No, I leave the sides of the painting a clean white, this is referred to as a museum wrap.
Let me know if you’d like your sides painted black or another solid colour.
Some clients like to install their canvas painting into a floater frame, while others prefer to hang them straight on the wall.
Can you be commissioned to paint me something similar, or in a different size?
Yes, I love working on commissions where I can include you in the process. Painting a piece that is the perfect size for the gap on your wall, while also ensuring it ties in with what you already own is extremely rewarding for us both.
